But now, DeLorean revealed its 2040 vision with its Omega concept, and it really looks like it is from 2040.
DeLorean is describing the Omega concept as a “complete departure from traditional automotive design,” and from what it seems, they have managed to do it.
Looking into the future
Revealing the Baja-themed off-road racer concept in Monterey Car Week, DeLorean clearly showed that the company is looking so far into the future with its designs.
The new Omega concept is all about the future, or you can say that it came straight out of a cyberpunk movie. It features moon rover-style wheels, a front spoiler, cannon-shaped headlights, no sided mirrors, fin-shaped translucent rear headlights, and a dumbbell-shaped roofline.
Attempting to predict what the DeLorean design will be in 2040, the Omega concept vehicle blends the design freedom of an electric powertrain with an off-road-racing attitude, riding on large, chunky wheels with one giant windshield that seems to extend from grille to taillights.
